Camden Open Air Gallery
Brand Identity
The Camden Open Air Gallery was an idea born out of Lockdown.
Like everywhere, Camden looked empty and lifeless, the endless closed shutters on shop premises acting as a metaphor for the local mood.
Finn, the founder of COAG, wondered how it might be transformed by local street artists using the shutters as a canvas. In one fell swoop, his idea inspired both artists and the local community, and within a few months they had managed to paint over 60 shutters across the high street and Camden.
Following the success of this lockdown inspired movement, they went on to to open their flagship gallery space and shop in the heart of the high street.
The design challenge was to combine a strong tone of voice with the core brand values. Namely, approachable, passionate, brave and bold in tone, whilst paying homage to the colourful roots of street art and the collaborative truth of the brand promise.
